SPECIAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION WOMEN LEADERS HOST LUNCHEON/FASHION SHOW

The newly formed Special Education Foundation (SEF) Women Leaders will host a luncheon and fashion show on Thursday, June 3 at the Bogey Club in Ladue. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. Details, a new clothing boutique in Town and Country, Missouri, will provide the fashions which will be enhanced by jewelry from F. O.B. Saint Louis, Inc. Tickets are $75.00. Seating is limited to 60 individuals. Proceeds from the luncheon/fashion show will provide scholarships for students with disabilities.

The SEF Women Leaders was formed in July 2009 to help the Special Education Foundation in its mission of providing financial assistance to children and youth with disabilities. The group meets monthly to discuss ways to help children in their journey to independence. The luncheon/fashion show will become an annual event to provide scholarships for students who are college-bound. The scholarship(s) will be awarded at the Foundation’s annual Commitment to Kids Banquet held each April. The SEF Women Leaders will present the scholarship(s).

“We are delighted to host this fashion show luncheon to assist with scholarships for college-bound students,” states Laurie Williams, chairperson of the SEF Women Leaders and member of the Special Education Foundation Board of Directors. “We believe that we will make a difference in the lives of children and youth with disabilities. In addition, we hope to inform more women about the Foundation and ultimately add to our membership.”

The Special Education Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 ( c) (3) organization whose mission is to assist children and youth with disabilities in areas not supported by tax dollars through scholarships, camperships, hearing aids, eyeglasses, assistive devices for those with physical disabilities, mini-grants for innovative classroom projects, high school leadership and parent support.
