The Black Rep's Library in the Woods performance at Ackerman School
It’s 1959, and Junior and his family have moved into town after a storm destroyed the family farm. Adjusting to a new school, friends, and the realities of the segregated South, Junior soon discovers the Library in the Woods, a log cabin library just for the Black residents. The library and its books feel magical, giving Junior a sense of possibility and community. Supported by the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis.
