The Special Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the Junior Leaders Academy, an exciting leadership development program designed for middle school students (incoming 6th-8th graders) who want to grow their confidence, build leadership skills, and make a difference in their community. Applications are due by February 28.
The Junior Leaders Academy provides students with hands-on exposure to leadership through interactive sessions focused on teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and civic engagement. Participants will learn directly from community leaders, explore how organizations create positive change, and begin to see themselves as leaders with the power to make an impact.
Students selected for the program will participate in three sessions, held once per month from September through November. To ensure access for all students, transportation will be provided for those in need, removing barriers to participation and allowing students to focus fully on learning and connection.
The Junior Leaders Academy is an inspiring opportunity for middle school students to discover their strengths, build meaningful relationships, and gain early exposure to leadership in the community—all while having fun and growing their confidence. Apply today!
