Last week, students in the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy visited the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, gaining firsthand experience with state government.
The trip allowed students to tour the historic Capitol building, meet with state representative Brad Christ, and observe the legislative process in action—bringing their leadership and civic education to life.
The visit is one of the many experiential learning opportunities that make the Fred Saigh Leadership Academy so impactful. Designed to cultivate leadership, civic engagement, and self-advocacy, the program helps students understand how they can influence their communities and take an active role in shaping the future.
Experiences like this help students build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, and see how their voices can make a difference.
