Each spring, the Special Education Foundation (SEF) and the Special School District (SSD) come together to create an evening that is equal parts celebration and inspiration—and the 2026 Inspiring Futures event was no exception. This special night shines a well-deserved spotlight on the remarkable students, educators, and community members who are shaping brighter futures across St. Louis County.

What truly sets this event apart is the collaboration between SEF and SSD. Together, the two organizations work hand-in-hand to design an experience that reflects the spirit of the community they serve. From coordinating the program and celebrating each honoree to creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere, this partnership ensures that every detail contributes to a memorable and uplifting evening.

Students themselves are at the center of the celebration. One of the most powerful moments of the night comes as the recipients take the stage while everyone learns about their journeys, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the goals they are working toward.
