Driving Positive Change to Support Students with Disabilities

buses and bus drivers on sponsor background

Transporting students from home to school and back again is an essential part of the school experience, and the Special Education Foundation is grateful for the outstanding work of the bus drivers and the entire Transportation team within the Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD).

We are also grateful for the support we receive from many transportation companies that partner with SSD to provide safe, on-time transportation to students receiving special education services and to tech school students, most safely and efficiently.

One of our long-time supporters is Student Transportation of America (STA), which provides transportation for special education and tech education students in St. Louis County.

STA is a Golden Apple sponsor for this Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament and Auction. Founded in 1997 and with operations across North America, STA serves more than 1.25 million students each day, including in the St. Louis region.

Assisted Student Transportation is now in its third year as a Silver Apple sponsor of the Tournament. The company, based in Kansas City, operates a fleet of minivans, full-sized vans, and ADA-accessible wheelchair vans for local school districts.

Since 1992, Assisted Student Transportation has worked with school districts to provide alternative transportation services, using its fleet of more than 200 vehicles to make life easier, safer, and more productive for students in need of specialized transportation.

These two companies are among dozens of community-minded businesses that share SEF’s commitment to understanding and addressing the diverse needs and daily challenges of children with disabilities, and choose to support our annual charity golf tournament as a powerful demonstration of our shared dedication to providing services and programs to these children.

If you’ve ever wondered about the perks of being a sponsor, here’s what you can expect: your brand will be front and center—not just at the tournament, but wherever we share news about the event. Sponsors get shout-outs in our invitations and printed programs, visibility on the golf course and in the clubhouse, and features on the Special Education Foundation’s website and social channels.

But it’s about so much more than recognition.

Every dollar raised through this tournament goes directly to SEF’s programs supporting children with disabilities. Since we rely completely on private donations, sponsors help us make a difference in the lives of local students.

And if you like a good reason to give, here’s one more: because SEF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your sponsorship or donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
