As a new school year is just around the corner, there are some upcoming opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with disabilities. Whether you have a few hours to give or are looking for an ongoing way to support your community, the Special Education Foundation (SEF) welcomes supporters to join us.

Back-to-School Opportunities

The excitement of a new school year brings a variety of back-to-school events throughout St. Louis County. SEF partners with the Special School District of St. Louis County (SSD) and the county school districts to connect families with valuable resources and programs. We invite you to join us for back-to-school bashes in the Riverview Gardens, Lindbergh, Jennings School Districts, and

Neuwoehner High School. More information on Jennings event will be available soon.

Volunteers play an important role by helping staff at vendor information tables, greeting families, assisting with event setup and cleanup, and sharing information about SEF's programs and services.

We also have an opportunity to assist this year’s Fred Daigh Leadership Academy class with their annual Car Wash fundraiser. These events are a wonderful way to meet families, connect with educators, and help ensure students begin the school year with the support they need to succeed.

Volunteer at Our Signature Fundraiser

Looking ahead, one of SEF's largest volunteer opportunities is the Dan McLaughlin Charity Golf Tournament & Auction on Monday, October 12, at Norwood Hills Country Club.

This annual event raises critical funds that provide adaptive equipment, communication devices, scholarships, emergency assistance, and innovative classroom opportunities for students with disabilities served by SSD. Volunteers are essential to the event's success and assist with golfer registration, course activities, contests, auction support, hospitality, and more.

Whether you're volunteering as an individual, bringing coworkers for a day of community service, or organizing a group, your time and talents directly help create opportunities for thousands of students across St. Louis County.

Join Our Volunteer Team

Every volunteer makes a difference. No matter your experience or availability, there is a place for you at SEF. By sharing your time, you'll help remove barriers, create opportunities, and make a lasting impact on students with disabilities and their families.
