Special education teachers are constantly finding creative ways to help their students learn, grow, and succeed. But even the best classroom ideas sometimes come with a price tag.
That’s where the Special Education Foundation’s Classroom Innovation Grants come in. Since 2002, SEF has helped turn educators’ creative ideas into meaningful classroom experiences by providing funding for projects that go beyond what traditional school budgets can cover.
From sensory spaces and adaptive materials to hands-on learning experiences and specialized equipment, these grants give educators the opportunity to bring innovative ideas to life for students with disabilities.
Your Support Helps Fund Great Ideas
SEF’s Classroom Innovation Grants are made possible through the generosity of donors, community partners, and SSD staff who believe in investing in educators and students.
There are two easy ways SSD staff can help support these opportunities—and potentially put more money toward classroom projects:
Payroll Deduction Program
SSD employees can make a one-time contribution or spread their giving across eight pay periods. Even a small contribution adds up and helps SEF provide grants and other programs that directly benefit students and educators. Enroll by September 30, 2026.
Scratch-Off Raffle
You could also turn your support into a chance to win 100 Missouri Lottery Scratch-Off Tickets! Tickets are just $5 each or 3 for $10; your chance to win cash while supporting SEF. And who knows? Your winnings could become instant extra cash for your classroom projects!
The raffle drawing will be held after the October 12 deadline, so get your tickets and take your chance to win while supporting students with disabilities.
Great Ideas Deserve a Chance
Classroom Innovation Grants are designed to give educators the resources to try something new, address individual student needs, and create experiences that might otherwise not be possible because of limited funding.
